During the first few meeting, we took the time to discuss how we would normally understand, and solve conflicts. Most of our thoughts had similarities, however, we took the time to talk it through and have everyone understand and on the same page. As a group, we knew that we were individuals, and we all have different mindsets as we are in different places in our lives. However, as a group we manage conflict really well. This I have never felt with prior groups because usually in group work you only end up knowing their name and there duties as a group apposed to understanding them and who they are as a person. The personal information we shared together was quite intimate. It was admitted by a group member that he shared information that he have not even shared with close friends, that made me feel closer to him as a group member and realized he was really providing us with strong self disclosure.

Everyone was really in tune of what I had to say and what everyone else had to say. The respect between our group members was a breath of fresh air because not everyone can be emotionally understanding and can relate to each other like our group could. With each of us having separate leadership qualities we were able to push and support one another to achieve balance in different areas. Because of this, there was no issue of power struggle within the group, as there were no high or low in status. Throughout the duration of the group report, each of us has very tight schedules and many academic papers to juggle. Hence, we did not manage to meet the first arbitrary deadline set for our first draft.

But instead of judging or coming down hard on each other, we communicated to one another and showed empathy and support to those who have pressing issues at hand. Additionally, it was less stressful because we had a shared responsibility of the outcome as everyone agreed on the final, binding resolution. Another management technique we used was the compromise approach when we had to resolve a process conflict, which happened between two of our group members who insisted on doing the same sub-topic for our CA2 individual research. Triston then suggested drawing lots, which everyone agreed on, as it was an indisputably fair and democratic solution. This lowered the levels of tension and stress, as time was a factor.

Thus compromising was an expedient and mutually acceptable solution as it partially satisfied everyone. While one may compliment others better than another, all are needed in order for the workplace to be successful. I also learned different things motivate different people; everyone has their own niche. In order to be successful at an organization, it helps to focus on those things that keep you going, avoid stress, and perform your best. From a professional standpoint, I understand my strengths of organization, planning, and strategic thinking but have tended to ignore my weaknesses. One weakness that is holding me back from being a good leader is my tendency to be a followe middle of paper ot done and that everyone looked up to me and respected me because this meant they would also want to do an excellent job.

If I was in the position again the one thing I would do differently is have more meetings. I think that when a group comes together you feed off of one another for ideas and this gets the brainstorming process going. Overall, I was happy with my leadership experience and thought that the team worked well together and that in the end I made them work, but they respected me, and I am happy to say we are still friends today. As I reflect back on my leadership experiences I believe that I have always tried to take initiative and get things done.

Predictions for competition in the future come from the pressure of new and existing competitors, as well as the changing market due to globalization.
